Principal Points 4.16
April 21, 2017

Dear St. Joseph Family,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and subsequent vacation!  As we come back to school, it is hard to believe that we have only 7 weeks left.  Though only 7 weeks, there is still much to do.  As we begin this week there are a few quick points:

  • This is ASPIRE TEST WEEK (Tuesday through Friday) for 3rd through 8th graders!  This Archdiocese mandated standardized test replaced the Terra Nova last year so students are familiar with it.  The test themselves are not very long; roughly 90 minutes max.  After students arrive, they will have time to get organized and settled.  Testing will begin no earlier than 9 am in any classroom.  The bell schedule has been altered so that students still have all 8 periods.  The subject schedule is as follows:
    • Tuesday: Reading
    • Wednesday: Math
    • Thursday: English/Writing
    • Friday: Science

All students should get a good night sleep, eat a good breakfast and be relaxed.  Other than long-term assignments, there is no homework or tests during test week.  The weather is also very nice, I strongly encourage students to go outside and get plenty of fresh air!
