After attending Northwestern University, Mrs. Schultz joined the Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary. Before taking final vows, she realized her vocational calling was not as a sister, but was to married life and as a mother. Mrs. Schultz is married with two grown sons who have blessed her with four very active grandchildren. After a successful career with the YMCA as an executive director, Mrs. Schultz realized how much she missed working with children directly and returned to school to earn her Master’s degree in Education from North Park University.
Mrs. Schultz taught at Saints Peter and Paul School in Cary, IL for twelve years. During that time she taught 5th through 8th grades, concentrating in science, social studies, language arts, and religion. Mrs. Schultz was lucky enough to be at SSPP when they received a substantial gift that allowed them to add a new wing to the school. She had the wonderful opportunity to help build their science program with the addition of a new science lab. She also started and sponsored the Theatre Quest Drama Club at SSPP for ten years. In addition to this, Mrs. Schultz also holds a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has been a swimming instructor for over 30 years.
When her husband was hired by a company in Northbrook, they sold their Cary home of 22 years to move closer. They currently live in Wheeling. “I am very excited to be joining the faculty here at St. Joseph School! Having grown up on the South Side of Chicago, I am an avid White Sox fan. I love reading, camping, gardening and spending time with my grandchildren.”
