Mrs. Hara holds an MAT from National-Louis University and a BS from Michigan State University. In addition, she has taken coursework in the areas of reading and differentiated instruction. She has been teaching for twelve years and joined the faculty of St. Joseph in 2002.
Catholic education is extremely important to the entire Hara family. Her husband has worked as a school counselor at Loyola Academy since 1994. Both her sons, Patrick and Christopher, have attended St. Joseph School since preschool and Patrick has continued on to Loyola Academy.
Mrs. Hara enjoys spending time with her family and dog, Chester. She loves heading back to Michigan to vacation in Traverse City or Mackinaw Island. A great summer always will include her favorite hobby, reading, a dozen or more books of any type!
For her, some things she enjoys about teaching in a Catholic school are celebrating Easter and Christmas with her students, seeing the commitment families have made to a faith-based education, and guiding her students through the sacraments of Reconciliation and Communion. The best, though, is watching her students grow as Catholic individuals from the primary grades through eighth grade.
