Uniform Information

St. Joseph School students wear uniforms daily, unless a non-uniform day is announced. The uniform code must be followed by all students in grades K - 8 without exception. Uniforms must be purchased from one of two approved vendors: Land's End or Dennis Uniform. Uniform ties are only available at Dennis Uniform. St. Joseph gym wear is available at Dennis Uniform or at the Wilmette Bike Shop.

On non-uniform days, students may dress casually in jeans, t-shirts, and gym shoes. No tank tops or halter tops are allowed nor any shirts that allow the midriff to be shown.

GIRL'S UNIFORM DRESS CODE

Required Mass Uniform

Jumper/Shift with blouse (K-4)
Skort/Skirt with blouse (5-8); appropriate length required

Regular Uniform - choose from the following:

Shirts:

Polo- White only, short or long sleeve, to be worn with pants and shorts
Blouse - White, long or short sleeve, rounded collar, broadcloth, worn with jumper/shift (K-4) or skort/skirt (5-8)

Pants or Shorts:

Khaki twill pleated
Shorts may only be worn April 1 to November 1
Pants may only be worn November 1 to April 1

Jumper/Shift (K-4):

Belair plaid to be worn with white blouse, long or short sleeve
Appropriate length as determined by principal; mid-thigh is not acceptable

Skort/Skirt (5-8):

Belair plaid to be worn with white blouse, long or short sleeve
Appropriate length as determined by principal; mid-thigh is not acceptable

Sweatshirt:

Green Sweatshirt with SJS logo - available at Dennis Uniform or Wilmette Bike Shop
Navy blue with St. Joseph logo (Dennis Uniform) - no longer available for purchase

Hosiery:

White, green, navy, red or yellow anklet (or longer) socks must be worn

Accessories:

Make up, colored nail polish, or jewelry are not to be worn with the exception of wrist watches, small rings, and religious crosses or medals. A single wristband or single necklace may be worn. Hair accessories may be worn, but must be appropriate to the uniform. Girls with pierced ears may war small earlobe size earrings.

Shoes:

Regular dress type school shoes for everyday are required. Merrells are okay but no loud colors.
Sandals, flip-flops, gym shoes, tennis shoes, boots, clogs, backless or toeless shoes or anything resembling a gym shoe are NOT ALLOWED)

Gym Uniform

Shorts - Forest green with yellow lettering
Shirt - gold blend with forest green lettering
Sweatpants - green sweatpants or sport pants(zipper on bottom)-gym class only
Gym shoes - gym class only
