What grades are offered?
St. Joseph School provides an academic program for preschool (2 - 5 years old), junior kindergarten, a full-day kindergarten, and grades 1 - 8.

Do you offer a half-day kindergarten?

What are the school hours? Is there bus transportation?
The opening bell rings at 8:30 and school ends at 3:15. Click here to learn more about bus transportation.

Do students have to be Catholic to attend?
St. Joseph School accepts students of all faiths. However, we are a Catholic School and religious instruction, prayer and liturgical celebrations are key to our school life. All non-Catholic students participate in these programs and events.

Is there a Before and After School program?
Yes - before school begins at 7:30 a.m. and after school ends at 6:00 p.m. These programs are held at the school and are available to St. Joseph School students in grades Junior Kindergarten - Eighth. Click here to learn more about the Before and After School Program.

Which academic subjects are taught?
Curriculum for each grade is designed to foster the growth and development of every student. Core curriculum includes religion, language arts/literature, mathematics, social studies, and science. Additional subjects include foreign language, computer, music, art, physical education and library. Learning is designed to promote the spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth of each unique child. Click here to review Curriculum Guides and Grade Information.

Do students wear uniforms?

Does St. Joseph School offer Special Education Services?
State and federal monies are allocated by law for special services for all children, whether they attend private or public schools. St. Joseph's students who are Wilmette residents are entitled to the following services offered by District 39. Click here to learn more about student services.

Does the school have sport teams?
St. Joseph School offers an array of extracurricular activities, including sports, fine arts, clubs and organizations. While we support school teams for volleyball and basketball, our students are also members of many of Wilmette park district teams - including soccer, football, hockey and baseball.

Is technology integrated into the classrooms?
Yes, technology is integrated into the curriculum and the classroom. All classrooms are computer networked and have Internet access. Additionally, all students take computer classes in our new Trailblazer Resource Center. Click here to learn more about technology at St. Joseph School.

How can parents get involved with the school?
We rely on our parents! To get involved, please join our Parish-School Organization or talk to your child's teacher to discuss ways you can volunteer or assist in the classroom. Click here to complete a parent volunteer form.
