Preschool Parking Lot Procedures

Arrival:
Morning 8:50 – 9:05AM

Afternoon   12:20 – 12:35PM

Afternoon     2:50 – 3:05PM

PLEASE NOTIFY CAREGIVERS OF THESE PROCEDURES. ANY CAREGIVER OR PARENT WHO FAILS TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED PICK UP AND DROP OFF PRIVILEGES.

Drop Off

• When dropping off your child, pull up along the row of orange cones, stay in your car, and wait until the teacher greeting the children opens the car door.
• Child should be on the passenger side of the car easily accessible to the teacher
• Teacher will unbuckle child and walk him/her to the west school entrance. Teachers will be posted at all doors to assist child to his/her classroom.
• If you need to speak to your child’s teacher, please send a note or leave a message with the office. Arrival time is not time for a conference.
• To exit the parking lot, proceed toward Forest Avenue. Please come to a complete stop, look both ways, and proceed with caution.
• If you prefer to walk your child into the classroom, please park your car and walk him/her to the west entrance of the building, crossing the drop off car line at the crosswalk. Do not park against the building, as this creates a safety hazard.
• If you are late, please park your car in an appropriate parking space and walk your child to the Lake Avenue entrance, and ring the bell.

Pick Up

• When picking up child, pull up along the orange cones as far as possible, and display family number in the rear passenger window.
• After “spotting” the family number, teachers will dismiss children from class, and will assist them into their cars.
• Parents/caregivers will be responsible for securing children in car seats.
• Once the child is in the car, please pull past the cones, put car in park, and secure child into his/her seat.
• If you prefer to pick up your child in his/her classroom, please park car in an appropriate space.
• Please exit out the Lake Avenue door with your child to reduce traffic and confusion at the west entrance.
• If you are late, please park your car in appropriate parking space(not next to the building) and come to the Lake Avenue entrance.
• At 3:05PM the K-8 carpool line begins!
