2-Year-Old Program

The St. Joseph School 2-Year-Old Program addresses the social developmental needs of children through creative play within a planned and structured classroom. The curriculum is planned around monthly themes that develop readiness skills through classroom activities and materials such as books, puzzles, puppets, songs and games. The children are introduced to the Catholic teachings and faith through daily prayer, saying grace before snack, the classroom prayer table, and interactions with others.

This program is offered in morning and afternoon sessions. The morning program runs from 9 - 11 and is available in two day (Tue/Thu) or three day (Mon/Wed/Fri) sessions. Students enrolling in the two day session must be two by September 1. Students enrolling in the three day program must be three by March 1. The afternoon program is only offered as a two day program and runs from 12:30 - 2:30 on Tuesday and Thursday. Students enrolling in this program must be two by September 1.

Preschool Program

Our Montessori preschool program for 3 - 5 year-old children creates a highly individualized learning environment that teaches skill mastery and develops creative thinking and self-confidence. Through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, preschoolers engage in liturgical teachings and prayer for a unique, faith-filled experience. We believe the combination of the Montessori method and the Catechesis of the Good Shepard is a key strength of our preschool program.

The St. Joseph School Preschool Program offers morning and afternoon sessions. Children must be three years old by September 1. The morning program runs from 8:30 until 11 and the afternoon program runs from 12:45 until 3:15. Children may attend Preschool three, four or five days per week. If you are interested in the three or four day program, you may select your preferred days. These programs fill up quickly so register early!

Program Goals:

  • To help enhance the child's natural sense of spirituality through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd materials,
  • To feel a sense of security and have successful experiences twat school, which will enable the child to feel good about her/himself,
  • To teach appropriate social skills and manners with peers and adults,
  • To keep natural love of learning alive through the classroom environment,
  • To value the respect of life, people and materials around him/her.
