Admissions Welcome

St. Joseph Church opened its first parish school in 1850. The school moved into our beautiful facility in the 1930s and now enrolls more than 300 students in preschool through eighth grade.

While the building retains its historic beauty and character, it has been renovated to incorporate modern amenities and technology. The St. Joseph School teaching philosophy helps students develop sound academic and critical thinking skills. Students learn to work cooperatively with their peers and independently in an environment based on values grounded in Catholic principles. We are very proud of the strong commitment of the faculty as well as the student/teacher ratios, both of which allow teachers to develop true relationships with the children and provide the personal attention critical to their academic and personal achievement.

Our balanced philosophy develops the mind, body and soul. In the tradition of our Catholic faith, we advocate mutual respect and support to help students develop a strong sense of community, belonging, and self-confidence. Christian faith and values are present in every aspect of school life as we seek to promote spiritual growth along with intellectual, emotional, physical and social developments.

The St. Joseph School community is energized by individuals who have strong commitments to their children and Catholic education. The school also benefits from the formidable support of the parish community.

Typically, a family submits an application by February for enrollment in August. However, applications are considered throughout the year if capacity exists in a classroom. Prospective families are invited to attend one of the school's Open Houses or an Informational Coffee. These admission events give families an opportunity to become better acquainted with the school and educational curriculum by meeting with staff, faculty and other parents and touring the school and facilities. Or, you may contact the office directly and set up a private meeting. We encourage prospective students to spend a day in one of our classrooms, "shadowing" other students.

Come and see for yourself why we are so proud of all that goes on in our school.
